Anwil Wloclawek has started completing its roster for the 2014/2015 season. The club has brought three new Polish guys to the team: small forward Krzysztof Krajniewski, power forward Greg Surmacz and shooting guard Maciej Raczynski. Michal Sokolowski and Mateusz Kostrzewski have left Wloclawek.
After Michal Sokolowski and Mateusz Kostrzewski terminated their contracts prematurely, Anwil Wloclawek came before the necessity of completing the open spots. Thus last couple of days brought three new contracts, all signed for one season.
Krzysztof Krajniewski, the 25-year-old small forward, debuted in the league in 2012 in the team of Jezioro Tarnobrzeg. Since that moment, he has played 51 games in the highest division, averaging 5,4 ppg. and 2,7 rpg. in the 2012/2013 season and 5,8 ppg. and 2,3 rpg. in the last competition.
Maciej Raczynski was transferred from AZS Koszalin where he spent last season. The 30-year-old shooting guard had played in Anwil Wloclawek for three years in the past. Firstly, he was the part of a team between 2002 and 2004 and secondly – in the 2007/2008 season. In 2003, Raczynski was a member of a team that won the Polish championship. Moreover, experienced guard played in lower division teams like AZS Szczecin (11,1 ppg. and 1,9 apg. in the best 2011/2012 season in his career)
Greg Surmacz is 29 year old and plays mainly as a power forward, but he’s able to be rotated also as a small forward. Surmacz, born as Grzegorz in Wroclaw, Poland, spent last three years in Canada, playing for Windsor and London Lightning. Before that adventure, he spent three years in Tauron Basket Liga, representing AZS Koszalin and PBG Basket Poznan. Last competition he was averaging 6,5 ppg. and 3 rpg. in 41 games of the Canadian league.
Tomasz Krzywdzinski and Dawid Slupinski will not be playing for the team in the upcoming season. Both players' contracts have been expired.
