In spite of the fact that Krzysztof Szubarga could not perform on Saturday's game, all of the experts claimed that PGE Turow Zgorzelec has to win the first semfinal play-offs battle easily and clearly.
As it turned out, nothing further from the truth. Anwil Wloclawek played with a great engagement and had a plan how to fight against the favourite: get all of the players involved in the game. Marcus Ginyard, Seid Hajric and Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz made some important shots and Anwil lost only 27:28 in the middle of the second quarter.
Unfortunately Ivan Opacak activated and reminded about himself in that moment. Croatian forward has played only good games against Anwil this season and he was going to continue such a series, scoring 13 for the last 15 points that PGE Turow made in the last four minutes before the break. Had it not been for Damian Kulig's shot, Opacak would have made 13 points in a row. The hosts were leading 43:31.
Despite the obstacles, Anwil was working in order to fight its own rhythm after the break and found it at the beginning of the last quarter. The second Frasunkiewicz's triple sent the guests to the 55:63 result, while another triple (Tony Weeden's) cut the lead to only 61:66. When Hajric added a jumper, PGE Turow felt Anwil's breath on its back.
Unfortunately, the pursuit turned out to be unsuccessful as the guests let PGE Turow finish the game with a 13-5 run.
