Krzysztof Szubarga played at his best at the very beginning of the Sunday’s game against PBG Basket Poznan so Anwil Wloclawek quickly took a lead. The guests were trying to keep Anwil’s level but the hosts shined extremely bright as they didn’t miss any of their first eight shots from the field. Mentioned-above Szubarga had six points and six assists in ten minutes and Anwil were leading 34:21.
Unfortunately, that margin sent Emir Mutapcic’s players to sleep and Poznan team were constantly cutting the lead. When Aleksander Lichodzijewski made a triple, the advantage decreased to only seven, 34:41.
Although, Anwil scored some easy baskets even before the break and finished the first half winning 53:44, they presented their best shape just at the beginning of the third quarter. Corsley Edwards found his place in the paint and rhythm in the offense, John Allen worked hard on both sides of the court while Szubarga still continued to conduct the whole orchestra and Anwil won that period of the game 19-2, so that meant a 72:46 lead in the 28. minute.
Seizing the opportunity, Mutapcic let his substitutes play definitely more and of the them used that time extremely efficiently: 21-year-old Wojciech Glabas spent 19 minutes on the floor, scoring 9 points, grabbing 6 rebounds and making 3 blocks. Anwil finally won the game easily 92:69.
Corsley Edwards scored 17 points after the break so collected a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds. Krzysztof Szubarga, who had six assists in the first quarter, slowed down a little bit in the next parts of the match, but after all had 14 points and 11 assists.
