The Sunday's match started promisingly as the good play of the big men gave a 6:3 lead. When the backcourt players activated themselves Anwil even increased its margin to six, 13:7. It seemed also that Tony Weeden finally found his rhythm as he made his first three-point shot. Unfortunately, it was only the penultimate shot made by the American that Sunday.
A piece of luck helped the hosts to get back their rhythm - suprisingly the center Robert Tomaszek made a three-pointer while simultaneously Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz fouled Valdas Dabkus in the post. Lithuanian forward changed that opportunity into other two points and Energa Czarni almost cut the lead (13:12).
When the hosts gained momentum, there was nobody in Anwil's jersey who could be able to shoulder the burden. Weeden was missing his attempts as well as Ruben Boykin and Arvydas Eitutavicius. Before the break Czarni was leading 45:31 but the margin easily increased to more than 20 points in the third quarter.
The last quarter changed nothing even though Anwil won it by five points.
- We had some problems with making decisions, making turovers and too slow play in the offense. This team behaves completely different during the games and practises, but I do not want to blame the players. I chose them so I am ready to carry the responsibility - says the headcoach Dainius Adomaitis.
