Weakened by the absence of injured Michal Sokolowski, Anwil Wloclawek adds another victory over Rosa Radom after the play-offs second quarterfinal game, beating the opponents on Saturday 89:85 in a game of two overtimes! Jordan Callahan scores 20 points and makes a sensational triple that gives the Rottweilers lead of 2:0 in the series.
It was a game that happens once in a blue moon. Honestly speaking, it was a game that happens even more rarely... Anwil Wloclawek turned to be better than Rosa Radom after 50 minutes of hard work, engagement, fight and commitment. There were two overtime periods that made the game so tight and there were two overtime periods that made the game so magic.
Anwil was a step or two behind Rosa for almost whole game but the cut-off took place in the middle of the fourth quarter. Piotr Pamula was the guy who made two triples within a couple of seconds and those six points made Anwil winning 62:58. Unfortunately, a couple od bad decisions for the hosts changed the battle and it was Rosa which was leading 65:63 just 20 seconds to go. Fortunately, Seid Hajric appeared efficiently in low-post and we had the first overtime. The guests found their rhythm quicker but Jordan Callahan made five easy baskets and Anwil was winning 78:76 seconds before this peeriod's end. However, Jakub Dloniak made a lay-up and made the game tight sending it for the second overtime.
Dloniak continued to play better as he scored some other baskets but Anwil caught wind. Callahan increased to 82:80 while a fast break from Paul Graham and Danilo Mijatovic addes two more points (84:80). Kirk Archibeque answered well (84:83) and Korie Lucious equalized the game just 40 seconds before the last buzzer (85:85). Jordan Callahan got the ball and standing in the middle of the court, he was dribbling. One mve left, one move right, he switched with a big man and attempted a shot... above the long Kim Adams' arms and... made a great triple! Anwil was winning 88:85 and it needed only to defend in the last action. Lucious was trying to change the situation but he missed from behind the arc, Graham grabbed the ball and drew an Adams' foul. He made 1-for-2 free throws and it was clear than Anwil has already won the game. In order to prove it and to in order to seal the victory, Mateusz Kostrzewski didn't let Lukasz Majewski made a good pass from behind the court just two seconds to go and the win has turned out to be a fact.
