Trefl Sopot was definitely better team in a game against Anwil Wloclawek. More efficient, more collective and more hardworking. They were leading almost the whole game but in the crunch-time it was Anwil which took control of the game and despite losing 58:66 four minutes to go and 66:71 just 40 seconds to, tipped the balance at their sides.
Firstly Dardan Berisha made a triple and when Lukasz Wisniewski got rejected by John Allen with 15 seconds till the end, the doors of the victory opened for Anwil. Corsley Edwards grabbed the ball and passed it to Krzysztof Szubarga. Polish playmaker moved quickly from the backcourt and tried to play a pick and roll with Edwards and Seid Hajric. After the first attempt he tried twice but the Trefl defenders put the mockers on it so the playmaker had no choice and moved back behind the 6,75 meter line. Lukasz Koszarek was trying to block the shot but Szubarga made a fade-away three point jumper!
It was the first and, as it turned out, the last leading of the hosts. The guests were trying to make a buzzer-beater as they had 2,5 second to the final whistle but Adam Waczynski didn’t find the way to the rim and made an air-ball which equaled the loss of Trefl.
Corsley Edwards was the second hero of Anwil. American center was so close to have a double-double – he had 22 points and 9 rebounds.
