The second phase of Intermarche Basket Cup has been begun with a win. Anwil Wloclawek outclassed Bricomarche BM Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski 91:74 as the usual bench players went it for the kill and did a great job on the court.
It was rather like a scrimmage for Anwil Wloclawek to compete against the opponent from the 1. liga (Polish Second Division). The team of Milija Bogicevic took an easy win, playing smarter and quicker than the rival and proving the gap between two leagues.
Seid Hajric and Deividas Dulkys were supposed to perform in that game only under the circumstances of the loss possibility. Fortunately for them (as they both needed to rest a bit after the last game due to some little injuries), they didn't have to step on the court and the usual bench players did a great job.
Mikola Witlinski was given 25 mintues and he went it for the kill as he scored 14 points and four rebounds. Piotr Pamula, who has just returned from the foot injury, got the same time on the court and he finished the game with 11 points. The headcoach Milija Bogicevic enabled two youngsters Adrian Warszawski and Tomasz Krzywdzinski, both were given a couple of minutes, but they finished their cup debut without a point effect.
Anwil were leading by 22 points even after the first half but when the third ended, the board showed a 33-point lead for the guests, 79:46...
It is worth adding that Keith Clanton stayed perfect as he made all of his eight field goal attempts and finished the game with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds.
