Anwil Wloclawek lost in Sopot against Trefl 60:67 because they let the hosts take the control of the game in the second half. That defeat interrupted Anwil’s series of last three victories.

D.J. Thompson opened the game with a three pointer, while the whole team defended so well in the first quarter as Anwil took a lead 10:6. It is worth adding that Trefl couldn’t find the way to the basket for almost three minutes, however later they were able to decrease the margin to only two points after ten minutes – 12:14.

The second quarter turned out to be a show of the guests. Emir Mutapcic’s players performed extremely efficient defense stealing a lot of balls and playing well in low post, so the advantage was being increased constantly. Players from the bench like Dardan Berisha, Seid Hajric or Chris Thomas gave much energy and scored some points so Anwil was leading before the break 33:25.

Mutapcic’s players were presenting definitely better than the hosts in both: defense and offense. Trefl scored only 25 points in 20 minutes but everything changed in the third quarter. Giedrius Gustas, Filip Dylewicz and Pawel Kikowski unblocked themselves and were able to start decreasing Anwil’s lead. When Polish guard made a triple with a buzzer, Trefl took a 46:45 lead.

Despite Anwil got back the control shortly (49:48 after Paul Miller’s free throws), Filip Dylewicz and Dragan Ceranic answered with their points and showed that Trefl found their way and is not willing to let the chance go away. Finally Karlis Muiznieks’ team won 67:60.
