Timothy Bowers started a game very easily and was all over the floor, creating actions and scoring and thanks to this Pepsi took a lead, 14-10. However, American guard was only one player who was trying to fight against the hosts as his teammates didn’t present well at the beginning. In the meantime, Anwil came back to the game and finished the first quarter leading 17-16.

D.J. Thompson was very active as he made a triple and stole the ball three times within some minutes, Eric Hicks added five consecutive points and Anwil increased its lead to 25-19 but it wasn’t an end - Tomasz Celej dunked offensive rebound and Paul Miller added a layup for a 31-22 Anwil lead! Unfortunately, a 0-8 run in the end of the second quarter let the guests cut the lead and the result changed radically (33:35 after a half).

Miller answered the call to start the third quarter with an emphatic dunk and a layup to put Anwil back in front, while Chris Thomas also got into the scoring mix, making shots and grabbing boards to take command of the game and Anwil were leading again – 46:42 and, some minutes later, 59:47.

Lukasz Koszarek, who played in Anwil’s jersey three and two years ago, scored from beyond the arc and made it 57:52 with a quarter to go, while Luca Garri added some very important baskets and the margin decreased to only two points, 61:59. When Italian center scored another two-point shot, the game tied at 63:63 with five minutes left.

Nevertheless, there was only one team which continued to play efficiently until the final whistle. At first Nikola Jovanovic hit a three-pointer, while Thomas forced two Caserta turnovers and Miller was able to scored twice and Anwil increased its lead to 72:65. Luca Garri and Martin Colussi tried to change the situation but Emir Mutapcic’s team were too confident and too effective to lose that game.
