Andrzej Pluta announced his decision. The former captain of Anwil Wloclawek decided to return to his native city, Radzionkow. – Wloclawek will be always in my heart but now it’s time to rest – the ex-player said.
After having played for Anwil Wloclawek for plenty of seasons, Andrzej Pluta made a decision to retire. With this team a 37-year-old former shooting guard has achieved everything what a player can achieve in domestic basketball. In 2003 he won a Polish championship and a couple of years later he added two other medals in 2009 and 2010, respectively bronze and silver. Moreover he reached Polish Cup and SuperCup. Finally he performed in 207 Polish A1 league matches, scoring 2757 points.
In the middle of April, Pluta decided to retire and he announced his decision on the special conference. Simultaneously, he indicated that he doesn’t know where is he going to spend next months and what is he going to do. Now, everything’s clear. Pluta chose Radzionkow, his native city, a place of a destination after basketball retirement. Together with his wife, he intends to establish a basketball school for children.
- I hope that Anwil fans will accept my decision and they will second it. I will be recollecting those years spent here in Wloclawek with special emotions and affection. And I promise I will be trying to come to Wloclawek to the games – Pluta said.
It’s worth adding, the ex-player will appear in Wloclawek soon. It has been established that his farewell match will take place in this city. It is going to be his last official game and after it, his jersey with no. 10 is going to be hung under the Champions Court’s dome. It means that Pluta’s number will be restricted.
