The players of Anwil Wloclawek were trying their best but only in the first quarter they were able to keep up with their opponents from PGE Turow Zgorzelec. From the second quarter on it was a guest team that controlled the situaion on the court, eventaully winning the battle in the Champions' Court 94:69.
The energy have run out of Anwil Wloclawek right after the break but it was the middle of the second quarter when it turned out that the Rottweilers can't win this Thursday's battle. PGE Turow Zgorzelec was winning by ony two (30:28) in the 12th minute but the guests needed only three to run away for a distannce of twelve, 41:29. Anwil didn't give up but the chances of changing the picture of the game were so tiny...
The players of a home team played with heart but the opponent was too strong, simply. The headcoach Miodrag Rajkovic was able to rotate with almost a full roster, eventually letting 11 guys take part in the competition while his countryman of the Anwil's bench, Milija Bogicevic had only seven experienced men in the roster. And the seventh one was only 19-year-old Mikolaj Witlinski for whose the current season is the first in his professional career. It was Bartosz Jankowski who gave five minutes but he's even younger (18) than Witlinski so he is rather tought to be a hot prospect for the future, than a full-fledged teammate.
The rotation of Anwil narrowed because the captain Seid Hajric wasn't able to step up on the court. Bosnian-Polish big guy experienced some complications after he had his tooth extracted a couple od days before a match. Probably, the presence of Hajric would have changed nothing and it's better for the team to have him fully-healthy in the play-offs.
Michal Sokolowski finished the game with 15 points, Mateusz Kostrzewski added 12 in the game that was being eye-witnessed by the Poland National Team headcoach, Mike Taylor.
