Anwil Wloclawek had won four previous games against Energa Czarni Slupsk but in the battle number five the Rottweilers fell, losing 55:68. The team played its worst offensive game this season as it seemed the offensive skills were left in Wloclawek.
Anwil Wloclawek beat Energa Czarni Slupsk four times this season. Firstly, the Rottweilers grabbed the victory in the Gryfia Court (71:64) in an away battle and later proved their dominance in a home court (82:76) as both games were held in the regular season. Next Anwil won over Energa Czarni in a Polish Cup game after a narrow escape (65:63) and that narrow escape repeated then in the first TOP6 battle in Wloclawek (78:77). Last Saturday turned out to be the first competition for the opponents.
The players of Andrej Urlep were trying to run away from the very beginning but the guets were keeping their poisition close. It was the quarter number four when the Black Panthers managed to build such a big advantage that meany the victory. The Slupsk team needed a couple of things that helped them in winning the game.
Primarily, there were three American players - Jordan Hulls, Roderick Trice, Garrett Stutz - who launched as a rocket in offense as they made 52 for team's 68 points. Secondly, they dominated in low-post, winning the rebounds 28:19 and thirdly, they forced the guests to make 20 turnovers.
Michal Sokolowski proved his being in a shape as he scored 22 points for the second time this season. A young fellow and American Jordan Callahan were only two players who crossed a barrier of double-digits. The rest of a team didn't manage to make it. Unfortunately, when they were struggling in the fourth quarter, nobody followed in their footsteps and Anwil lost its five game in TOP6.
Fortunately, Rosa Radom also lost its game this round and that helped to keep the status quo in the ranking.
