The first quarter foreshadowed a great ending for Anwil Wloclawek. Corsley Edawrds activated himself at the very beginning while John Allen scored 11 of 28 points of the whole team as the guests were winning 28-22 after ten minutes. Anwil played efficiently even in the face of Edwards’ fouls trouble. Every single player who came to the floor, added his brick to the team’s effort.
When Bartlomiej Woloszyn made a fast break jumper, Anwil took their biggest lead, 35:27. Unfortunately, that was their last moment of a good piece of basketball. Next seven minutes of the second quarter Trefl won 26-8 so that finished the first half 53:43.
Anwil problems started when Krzysztof Szubarga got a technical foul. Lukasz Koszarek, who stood on the free throw line then, scored four points easily and Trefl cut an Anwil’s lead for the first time (45:43).
Nick Lewis and Lawrence Kinnard, who were playing against his former teammates as he had played for Trefl last season, were trying to tip the balance but their single actions stopped the hosts for only tiny seconds. Trefl gained momentum and they resembled a snow globe which couldn’t be stopped at all.
Finally the hosts took a painful revenge after a disappointing loss in the first half of the regular season when they got beaten by one point, 71:72. On Sunday Trefl won by twenty one, 93:72.
