Tony Easley shined against Anwil Wloclawek at Warsaw and thanks to his 24 points and 15 rebounds Polonia won the game 77-75. It was the sixth Anwil’s defeat this season.
The first quarter gave a 23-17 lead for Anwil so the head coach Emir Mutapcic had some reasons to be satisfied. His players presented very effectively in offense and stopped the hosts below the barrier of 20 points. Even some minutes everything was right because Paul Miller and Nikola Jovanovic increased the margin to even nine, 28-19.
However, it was the last such a long distance which Anwil was able to build this evening. Lukasz Wichniarz, Darnell Hinson and Alan Czujkowski gave nine points shooting from beyond the arc and Polonia took a lead 36:35 in the middle of the second quarter, although Chris Thomas answered with another triple and it was 42-40 before the break.
Polonia dominated in low post where especially Tony Easley was very active. Big guy scored many easy baskets and grabbed a lot of balls and thanks to his performance, Warsaw team was leading 64-63 after three quarters. Unfortunately for Anwil, it was not an end of Polonia’s good playing. Above mentioned Easley gave added next four points and the guests were winning 72-70 with only three minutes left. However, Lukasz Majewski made a big three-pointer, Anwil took a lead 75-73 and everything seemed that despite all the obstacles, Wloclawek team will be able to win the game in that moment.
However, Tony Easley was the guy who decided to finish the game with a bang. Polonia had only four seconds when Marcin Nowakowski penetrated inside and passed the ball to American center who made a big dunk which gave Polonia win 77:75.
