Anwil Wloclawek strenghtened by another Polish player – twofold champion 30-yeard old shooting guard Lukasz Seweryn joined the team as he has signed a one-year deal.
Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz was the first guy who exchanged Asseco Prokom’s jersey for Anwil’s one this summer but he quickly found his copier. Lukasz Seweryn followed in his footsteps and has already sent a signed contract which will be valid till June, 2013.
The experienced player represented Asseco Prokom Gdynia in two last seasons which each one turned out to be completely different. In the first year in Gdynia Seweryn was mostly rehabilitating and he finished the competition with only four games in which he appeared on the floor. Fortunately, he was able to fully recover before the last season started and last time he performed as a sterling player. Eventually 30-year-old shooter played 22 games averaging 5 ppg. and 1,1 rpg.
The headcoach of Asseco Prokom, Tomas Pacesas, found a fitting role for his player. Realizing that Seweryn bases his play mainly on three point shots, he created the team tactics in such a way to make the best of Seweryn’s abilities. Then the player repaid with the three-pointers efficiency of 42 percent.
– We are pleased that Lukasz joins the team. He is an experienced player and we are sure that he will be one of the most important parts of the team – said the president, Arkadiusz Lewandowski.
In his career, Seweryn played for Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski, Polpak Swiecie, AZS Koszalin, Energa Czarni Slupsk and Unia Tarnow. His best period took place in 2004/2005 season when he averaged 7,6 ppg., 1,5 rpg. and 1 apg. in the team of Slupsk's jersey.
