Trefl Sopot is the winner of the sixth edition of Kasztelan Basketball Cup. The team defeat the hosts Anwil Wloclawek in the final 83:79 and Lukasz Wisniewski turned out to be the clutch player of the game as well as named the MVP of the tournament. Turkish Tofas Bursa finished at the third position as the team won over Slask Wroclaw 66:61.

Turkish Tofas Bursa finished at the third position as the team won over Slask Wroclaw 66:61.
In the first Friday’s game between Thursday’s losers, Tofas Bursa and Slask Wroclaw the team from Turkey played better during the whole game and despite they let the opponent come back to play in the third and fourth quarters, they held their nerves in the crunch time and secured a 66:61 victory.
Thanks to extremely efficient Tomislav Ruzic and Bradley Buckman Tofas was leading 51:31 in the middle of the third quarter and it seemed nothing else may happen in the following minutes. However, Akselis Vairogs and Robert Skibniewski were the guys who used the open shots and decreased the margin to only eight (47:55) even before the fourth quarter started.
Pawel Buczak made a smooth jumper in just three minutes to go and Tofas had only two points advantage (57:59). Unfortunately for them, it was almost the last good action in the game as they let the Turkish team scored seven points in the crunch time. Austin Nichols used his quickness, Buckman added some moves in the paint and Tofas finally won 66:61.

Until the middle of the second quarter, everything went Anwil’s way as the hosts were leading 32:22. Dardan Berisha proved his great talents and shape and scored 10 points easily as well as Seid Hajric who did a great job in the paint. Nevertheless, Anwil players themselves were the architects of their own downfall in the next stages of the game.
Lukasz Wisniewski shined in a Trefl’s jersey as he scored some three-pointers as well as Jamelle Horne. Anwil weren’t able to stop this duo and moreover, started making unnecessary and unforced mistakes – among other things Corsley Edwards didn’t hold his nerves and hit Josh Alexander with the ball after his own defensive rebound because a Trefl player had fouled him while the referees’ whistles had been silent.
Trefl led 44:40 ahead at halt-time and when the teams changed the sides, quickly increased its lead to ten points 53:43. Making some individual actions, John Allen was able to cut it to only four (61:65), but just minutes later, Wisniewski and Koszarek reached the highest lead in the game - 77:62 five minutes to go.
Anwil played by fits and starts and having just a ray of hope, tried to tip the balance once again. Lukasz Majewski made some jumpers and drew some fouls as he cut the lead to only seven, 72:79. A moment later Trefle missed a simple shot and Krzysztof Szubarga added two free-throws. In the net action Polish playmaker defended effectively and stole the ball which was passed to Edwards and Anwil decreased the advantage to only three, 76:79 just 40 seconds to go.
Nevertheless, as it turned out some fads later, it was the last what the hosts were able to do tonight. Lukasz Koszarek shot one of his two free-throws but Anwil didn’t use the fact and missed two triples. Chris Burgess ran the whole floor to get a long pass and dunked to secure a 83:79 success and a victory in the tournament.
