After four defeats in a row, the Rottweilers have finally beaten its opponents and won the first game in the 2014/2015 season. Playing under the guidance of the new headcoach Predrag Krunic, the team turned out to be better than Polpharma at Starogard Gdanski, winning the game 88:65. Greg Surmacz was shining for the whole battle, scoring 23 points.

Predrag Krunic, a Bosnian coach had been named Anwil Wloclawek headcoach just three days before the game against Polpharma Starogard Gdanski but it wasn't a problem in order to win the game. Krunic, like a magician who touches something and transmutes, has changed the team of the Rottweilers that grabbed its first victory in the whole season.

After four consecutive losses, Anwil didn't come to Starogard Gdanski as a favourite. The hosts - Polpharma - had already beaten, for example, Polski Cukier Torun, a team than Anwil lost a couple of weeks ago. And the first half confirmed the expectations of a hard game for the guests. Anwil Wloclawek were struggling from the very beginning till the end of the second quarter. If it had not been for the three triples from Greg Surmacz, it would have been even worse, but the power forward made his three of four distance shots and thanks to them, Anwil was only four points behind (43:39).

Making three triples, Surmacz didn't know that he is going to become the biggest star of the game. But he became. In the second half, 29-year-old forward added next three shots from behind the arc and adding 14 points altogether in that period of the game, he finished the battle as a leader with 23.

Surmacz's shots made Anwil more aggressive on the defensive end and more stable on the offensive one. Anwil won the third quarter 29:7 and was leading by 18 before the last ten minutes (68:50) and only a catastrophe could steal Anwil's first win in the season. However, the guests were playing even too good to make this happen and eventually they increased the lead to 23 points with the buzzer. All of the Rottweilers' twelve players appeared on the court in Krunic's debut as the headcoach.
