Anwil Wloclawek has acquired American swingman Marcus Ginyard from Israeli Ironi Nahariya. 25-year-old player, who is the first foreigner in the team, has put his signature under the one-season-deal.

So far the board of Anwil Wloclawek has considered and signed only Polish players, however the acquisition of American Marcus Ginyard has opened a new chapter in the process of roster building.
25-year-old Ginyard is a small forward who can play also as a shooting guard. Last time he played in Israeli second league, in the team of Ironi Nahariya where he was the biggest star, finishing the season with the following averages: 21,2 ppg., 6,8 rpg., 2,2 apg. and 1,7 spg. Six of his 28 games he finished with 30 or more points.
Ironi Nahariya was the second club in Ginyard’s professional career. He spent his debut season in German BBC Bayreuth and finished it with 10,9 ppg. and 3,6 rpg, having no problems with acclimation process in new background.
Before coming to Europe, Ginyard was a member of the North Carolina team Tar Heels playing next to current NBA players like Ty Lawson or Tyler Hansbrough. In 2008 the team reached the most important NCAA trophy – the championship after the March Madness. Ginyard was considered then as a defensive-oriented player, but in Germany and Israel he gave the lie to such an opinion.
– I would like to pay everyone’s attention on the university that Marcus graduated from. North Carolina is like a factory of basketball talents. The player who developed there have no problems with shifting gear to European style and they are well-grounded when it comes to technical skills – said Hubert Sledzinski, the team manager.
The headcoach of the team, Dainius Adomaitis sees Ginyard as a starting five player.
