The University of Kansas is a real smithy of the talents that after four years of playing for the Jayhawks enter the NBA. In the last two drafts, there were players that had been chosen among the first ten numbers - this summer the NBA got two players from Kansas while the third - Elijah Johnson - received a chance to play for the Clippers in the Summer League.
Johnson performed in five games, scoring 4,2 ppg., 1,2 apg., 1,2 rpg. and 1,2 spg. in only 14 minutes on the floor.
Playing for the Jayhawks for four years, Johnson got used to play on both guard positions, however his main role on the team is performing as a shooter. In the 2012/2013 season he averaged 9,9 ppg. and 4,6 apg. and 3,1 rpg.
- His typical position is shooting guard and I want him to play on that spot mostly. Nevertheless, his skills let him play as a playmaker as well so there will be moments I will be using him as a point guard too - says the headcoach, Milija Bogicevic - He has got everything what I want: he's quick and very athletic and very intelligent. The University of Kansas teaches his players how to be able to play in Europe so I am sure he will manage here. His team played in the NCAA Final Four so he also got some experience.
The contract with Johnson will be valid for a season. The player will come to Wloclawek on Saturday, 17 th.
