Chase Simon has been named as a new face in Anwil Wloclawek. American forward has signed a one-year deal but it will take into effect if the player passes a two-week try-out. Last season Simon started in Stabill Jezioro Tarnobrzeg but left the team due to an injury after four games.
Chase Simon is a graduate from Detroit Mercy. In his last year of playing in the NCAA, he was averaging 13,3 ppg., 4,4 rpg. and 2,4 apg. so it means he was one of the most important players of the Titans team.
The year of 2012 turned out to be the moment when Simon entered the professional career. He signed a deal with Aris Thessaloniki, but the Greek club sooner went into financial trouble. Nevertheless, Simon easily found another team and moved to Lithuanian, inking the deal with BC Siauliai. The statistics of 10 ppg., 2,6 rpg. and 1,5 spg. opened him the door to the starting five of the All-Star Game.
Last summer, Simon signed a contract with Stabill Jezioro Tarnobrzeg and his debut in Poland was very promising. American forward made 26 baskets and moreover had 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Unfortunately, he was able to perform in only four games and later got an injury of hernia. The surgery in the States was the only option and in spite of the fact that the player returned to normal after a month. Before leaving, he proved to be dynamic, involved, effective and efficient guy on the court.
For those who are afraid of player’s current health conditions, Simon tranquilizes. – Nowadays I feel fully recovered. To be honest, I was ready to play even a month after a surgery but, unfortunately, there were some problems with my contact in Tarnobrzeg and I had to stay at home for a bit longer. So I stayed in the States and started to practice and play scrimmages and summer leagues.
In order to prove his words, Simon agreed on a two-week try-out. His contract goes into effect as soon as he passes the tests under the watchful eye of the headcoach Mariusz Niedbalski.
