There was will to fight, there was engagement, sacrifice and commitment. The Rottweilers showed character and they fought till the final buzzer. Unfortunately, they lost their seventh game in the current season as Stelmet Zielona Gora won the battle 77:74.
Anwil had a chance for the second win in this season, as the team was leading for more than 36 minutes of the game against Stelmet Zielona Gora. Unfortunately, the crunch-time was stolen by the guests that won the last four minutes 10:6 and the whole game 77:74.
The Rottweilers played shinning from the very beginning, as Deonta Vaughn sped up the pace of the game easily and the hosts were winning 27:17 after the first quarter. Apart from the American point guard, Chase Simon and Greg Surmacz played well too. Polish forward had 15 points in the first half due to three triples made, while both Americans combined with 20 and the hosts were able to keep the margin of ten, 46:36, after two quarters.
Unfortunately, the players were getting tired and tired because of the rotation was limited. Piotr Pamula got injured after just two games performed after the full recovery from the last contusion while Andrea Crosariol went into foul trouble as quickly as it was just possible. Italian center made three fouls in the first quarter while in the third one got other two and all in all he was able to play for only... six minutes. Anwil's rotation system got narrowed badly and minute by minute the guests were decreasing the difference between both teams.
Anwil had 13 points (52:39) more when Seid Hajric made a jumper thanks to an impressive pass from Vaughn, but not only did they not maintain the margin at that moment, but also they let Stelmet score nine points easily. When Przemyslaw Zamojski made a triple just almost four minutes before the final buzzer, Stelmet cut the hosts' lead for the first time in the game and they tipped the balance.
Anwil was trying to rescue the situation as Vaughn and Chase Simon made very important shots but in the most important action the referees' whistles were silent when Konrad Wysocki was trying to make a triple that could have given the Rottweilers the overtime. Unfortunately he missed and Anwil lost its seventh game in the season.
