None of the fans who attended to the Champions Court on Saturday’s evening expected that Anwil open the game so badly. In the meantime, Eddie Miller used his quickness and scored eight points easily, so the guests were winning 8-0 at the very beginning. Lukasz Majewski broke the hosts’ infirmity and made a triple but PBG Basket were still leading 20-15 after the first quarter.
However, it were the last seconds of Milija Bogicevic players’ leading. The headcoach of Anwil Emir Mutapcic let Dardan Berisha and Scott Morrison come on the floor and this duo took control of the game. Canadian center scored 10 points even before the half, most after Berisha’s passes while Kosovar with Polish passport also added seven.
Anwil cut the lead in 14. minute when Chris Thomas made a three-pointer (26:24) and from that moment, started to build up its advantage. Eddie Miller was trying to stop his opponents but his points weren’t enough and the hosts were leading 43:33.
When Andrzej Pluta made a jumper at the beginning of the third quarter and Anwil increased its lead to thirteen (50:37), it seemed that the guests gave up. However, Eddie Miller once again showed his skills and Vladimir Tica made some easy baskets from low post and PBG Basket made a run 12-2 which meant a 52:49 result.
Fortunately for the hosts, Dardan Berisha and Scott Morrison woke up once again and scoring ten points quickly, they gave a 66:56 result. Simultaneously, Stipe Modric did a good job in defense as well as Lukasz Majewski and Anwil finally won 75:63. It was the third Anwil’s victory in a row and the fifth of last six games.
