After Mariusz Niedbalski's release, Anwil Wloclawek has announced that Bosnian coach Predrag Krunic and the club both have come to terms of the contract conditions and signatured the deal for the rest of the current season. Krunic will make his debut as the headcoach of Anwil next Sunday.
Predrag Krunic is a famous and established coach, basketball freak and experienced guy. In his career, strongly linked with German Bundesliga, he was coaching Telekom Baskets Bonn, EWE Baskets Oldenburg and Medi Bayreuth, not only competing in domestic competition, but also European cups like Euroleague, EuroCup, EuroChallenge and Saporta.
After four defeats at the beginning of the season, Anwil Wloclawek had been looking for a coach who could restore team's flagging morale and finally decided to hire a 47-year-old Bosnian. The club found EWE Baskets Oldenburg's championship in 2009 under Krunic's wings the most important thing during the searching process. It's worth adding Krunic was nominated as the best league coach of the 2008/2009 season.
