In the first half the hosts presented effective basketball. Igor Griszczuk’s players played hard in defense and fast in offense, as Andrzej Pluta and Nikola Jovanovic gave the lead 26:22 after first quarter. The head coach of Alba, Luka Pavicevic, tried to interrupt Anwil’s domination by using big rotation. In the second quarter there were no one players on Alba’s bench, who hasn’t tasted the floor. Despite it, Anwil was leading after twenty minutes 44:39 thanks to great performance of Jovanovic, who scored 13 points. Alba’s Bryce Taylor responded with 11 points.

Everything has changed in the second half. Alba made some corrections in defense and was able to stop Anwil fast breaks. As soon as the guests cut the lead, they quickly started to build its advantage. After 25 minutes they were leading by eight points, 57:49, but after the third quarter, the advantage increased to even twelve points, 70:58. Anwil tried to cut the lead, Paul Miller was very active in the low-post, but Immanuel McElroy and Sven Schultze made some big shot behind the 6,75 meter line and finally German team won at Champions Court 86:74.

Nikola Jovanovic scored 20 points while Paul Miller added 16 and Chris Thomas got 14. Immanuel McElroy led the winners with 20 points. Derrick Allen added 13 while Bryce Taylor and Sven Schultze each had 11.
