The Rottweilers washed away a taint that appeared on Anwil Wloclawek honour after the crash against PGE Turow at Zgorzelec. The team played good piece of basketball against Trefl Sopot at home, however the game finished with a loss 78:84.
Not only did Michal Sokolowski play his best game of the season but also in his whole professional career, scoring 22 points against Trefl Sopot. Unfortunately, en excellent game of a 22-year-old swingman didn't give the team any profit - Anwil lost to Trefl Sopot for the third time during the current competition. The team of Sopot won eventually 84:78, despite the fact they were losing 44:54 in the middle of the third quarter.
Anwil had a good open right after the break. Sokolowski started with an easy lay-up and Jordan Callahan and Paul Graham added six points thanks to two triples within a couple of seconds. The hosts seemed to control the pace of the game and built up for the margin of ten.
Since the very beginning, the hosts were playing with a rotation of only eight players. To be more precise - even seven because Mateusz Kostrzewski received only eight minutes on the floor from his coach, Milija Bogicevic. That meant that Trefl, which had a full rotation of 12 people and a strong bench of seven, was able to keep a high intensity for all 40 minutes. And when Anwil had to give out sooner or later, the guests could look at their fatigue as the most important thing.
Finally the players from Sopot won the last quarter, eight points more than the Rottweilers and stole the victory at the Champion's Court. It was the third Anwil's loss in the TOP6 stage.
