Stefhon Hannah was the guy who shined at the very beginning and when he played efficiently, the guests were able to fight against Anwil Wloclawek equally. American guard made three triples in the first quarter and AZS were leading 15:11, while George Reese added another one, it was 23:16.
Such a good shape irritated the hosts which made the game faster. The captain Lukasz Majewski gave the first signal to make the loss up as he targeted three three-pointers in a row and Anwil equalized the game to 23:23.
That moment turned out to be the crucial one – AZS lost their self-confidence and limited their offensive ideas to only attempting three point shots. In the meantime, Anwil played a mixed basketball as Krzysztof Szubarga and Marcin Nowakowski activated Corsley Edwards, Seid Hajric as well as themselves too. Thanks to it, the Wloclawek team were leading 58:39 after the second quarter.
Edwards gave six points just after the break and the hosts increased their lead to 64:39. When Szubarga speeded up the game and he played some fast breaks, it was even a 74:46 lead so the guests definitely abandoned their hope. They made some single actions but even when the headcoach Emir Mutapcic let his young players appear on the court, the advantage wasn’t decreased.
Finally Anwil have demolished AZS, winning 99:70. Seid Hajric had 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners, while Corsley Edwards mixed 17 points and 7 rebounds. The hosts performed a great domination in the paint because Nick Lewis had also 10 plus 4 while Lukasz Majewski, who was playing mainly as a power forward, added 17 points too.
