Anwil Włocławek is in basketball heaven. The Rottweilers defeated the French Cholet Basket 80:78 in an away game and thus won the FIBA Europe Cup!
The last FIBA Europe Cup game of the season aroused great emotions. Anwil Włocławek's players were mobilised and ready to face their rivals from France.
The game was extremely evenly matched (42:37 after the first half, 57:58 before the fourth quarter). The Rottweilers fought hard. Neither team was able to develop an advantage.
Przemysław Frasunkiewicz's players were efficient at the free throw line in the final seconds. Eventually they won the game 80:78 - in the finals they won 161:155! Anwil Włocławek has made history!
Victor Sanders was Anwil's best scorer. The small forward had 20 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Phil Greene IV was named the MVP of FIBA Europe Cup!
