The first game of the FIBA Europe Cup quarterfinals provided great emotions. Anwil Włocławek lost to Gaziantep Basketbol 84:85.
Anwil was entering the battle for the semi-finals of european cup after 21 years. Everyone wanted to start the quarter-finals with a victory. Gaziantep Basketbol started well - Damyean Dotson made a few 3-pointers and the opponents built their advantage.
The Rottweilers made some adjustments in the second half. Victor Sanders did a great job in the last seconds - mainly thanks to him Anwil reduced the difference and evetually lost by only one point. The door for semi-finals is still open.
Michał Nowakowski and Malik Williams were Anwil's best scorers. Both had 19 points each. The power forward added two assists, rebounds and a steal. The center had nine rebounds, two steals, a block and a rebound.
