Another derby game in this season for the Rottweilers! After an exciting game Anwil Włocławek, supported by fans – the White Army, defeated Twarde Pierniki Toruń 84:78.
The fans made this night special – everyone knew that this was the most important derby game in Poland. Anwil started slowly, but with every minute Przemysław Frasunkiewicz’s players were only better. Unfortunately, the opponents dominated on the rebounds (60:42) and even though the Rottweilers played hard, the game was close (73:73 after 40 minutes).
During the overtime Anwil’s players kept cool. Luke Petrasek was astonishing in the defense, Jonah Mathews and James Bell in the offense. The Rottweilers won 11:5 in the additional time and grabbed the derby game for the third time in this season!
Jonah Mathews was Anwil’s best scorer. The point guard finished with 20 points, eight assists and one steal. It is also worthy mentioning Luke Petrasek, who had 14 points, 12 rebounds, six fouls drawn, five blocks (three during the overtime) and an assist.
