Tough Anwil – The Greeks Slightly Better

Anwil Włocławek lost to Iraklis BC Saloniki 81:86 in the 1/8 round of FIBA Europe Cup. The Rottweilers almost made a surprise – fight for the win was tough until the last seconds.

The game started well for the Przemysław Frasunkiewicz’s players. The opponents were ineffective and the Rottweilers (in particular Artur Mielczarek) fought in the defense. After the first half Anwil led 38:30.

During the third quarter the rivals found their space on the court and played faster. The Rottweilers came back with the result, even took the lead 79:77 a minute before the final buzz, but at that moment Iraklis BC made 8:0 run, took the control and won.

Artur Mielczarek and Curtis Jerrells were Anwil’s best scorers. The small forward finished with 18 points, five rebounds, two assists and steals. The point guard also has 18 points – he added two assists and steals, also a rebound.
