Włocławek Basketball Club informs Igor Milicić is no longer the headcoach of the Rottweilers. It is the end of era in the club.
Igor Milicic took helm in Anwil Włocławek as the headcoach of the Rottweilers on June 10, 2015. Today, June 25, 2020, the great era has come to an end. After five years of a great cooperation, Igor Milicic is no longer the headcoach in our club.
Both sides have been fruitlessly negotiating for the last couple of days.
- Each book has its first and last page. With Igor at the steering wheel, we wrote a great story. It was a time of amazing hard work and big successes which were born on the ground of previous loses. I am sure that 'Milicic' name is the name that won't be forgotten the fans, without any doubts - says the president of the board, Arkadiusz Lewandowski. - Despite the fact it was extraordinary time with out, the club has to move forward. We have to face challenges which will come in this new reality.
During his time in Anwil, Igor Milicic won: two Championships (2018, 2019), two Supercups (2017, 2019) and the Polish Cup (2020). Not only was he the headcoach of the team in the games in Poland, but also in Europe, as Anwil competed in Basketball Champions League twice.
Cumulatively, he led Anwil in 234 games. Won 155.
- I want to say 'thank you' to all who I met during my stay in Włocławek. I admire my time here, I respect it what we reached together. We revived the boom of basketball in the city. Together with the club, the board, the employees, with my excellent staff and players and obviously with the greatest fans I've ever met... It's been amazing journey and I think I cannot express my mind correctly right now. Emotions are too big. Maybe one day we will meet once again - says Igor Milicic.
The whole organization of Włocławek Basketball Club, the Anwil Włocławek team, our sponsors and fans, we all desire to say 'thank you' for what you did here. And we wish you nothing but success wherever your ambitions are going to lead you.
